Description:
Completed in 2005, this luxurious Costa Rican Villa is situated on a picturesque point on the southern Pacific coast. With no other homes in sight, and lots of surrounding jungle, you have all the privacy needed to enjoy your home in peace... with the exception of some noisy visitors. Yes, the Howler monkeys and the toucans can sound off at any time without first introducing themselves. The sights and sounds of wildlife, open-air tropical living and unforgettable views have all been captured in one special place. Superbly located in Costa Rica's Maritime Zone (within 200 meters of the shore), the villa is one of just a few private luxury home rentals in the area that is on the ocean side of the main coastal road. This unique location combines breathtaking views of jungle-clad mountains, palm tree-studded beaches, and the tranquil Pacific Ocean with quick and convenient access all year long. If you like beaches, you are in luck as we have abundance nearby. From your villa, take a short hike down to the point and discover two secluded beaches (one with its own 35' waterfall) or jump in your car and within minutes be exploring miles of footstep-free sand.

The living and dining rooms offer the romance of open-air tropical living, blending the comforts of home with the nearness of wildlife. The living room is a great central location to gather and enjoy all that the villa has to offer. Plenty of seating for everyone. Don't be surprised if a hummingbird or butterfly cruises through making a cameo appearance. The "formal" dining area, adjoining the living room, accommodates six. The large fully-equipped kitchen, with its' beautiful custom cabinetry, and casual eating area for up to six is integrated with the living room and the views beyond. There is a half bath downstairs as well as a laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer. Once in, you'll never want to get out of the infinity-edge pool. Within steps of the villa, it blends into the dazzling coastline and the popular Uvita "Whale's Tail", a unique place to walk and explore. It overlooks Ballena (which means "whale") National Marine Park so keep your eyes open for Humpback whales and Bottle-nosed dolphins.

Two well-furnished master suites are located upstairs. Each of the suites incorporates the use of precious hardwoods for the doors and vaulted ceilings. Relax in the comfort of a/c or open the windows and let the ocean breezes in. Spacious bathrooms feature tumbled Columbian limestone showers and an openness that continues to let the outdoors in while providing all the privacy needed. (It is not unusual to have toucans or monkeys just a stone's throw away while you are in the shower.). You will love taking advantage of the large terrace upstairs. It's perfect for wildlife viewing, whale watching, stargazing, photograghy, sunrises and sunsets, or just dozing off in the comfy hammock. Surrounding the villa are exotic heliconias, a variety of fragrant gingers, exotic palms, birds-of-paradise, cola de lion, etc... not only for your enjoyment but to attract our fine feathered friends.

Custom built in 2005 with the conveniences and amenities of a luxury home, it has been fully decorated to make your visit both memorable and comfortable. It has been landscaped with various ornamental trees and flowers, not only to add beauty for your enjoyment, but to attract butterflies, toucans, hummingbirds, and many other species of fine, feathered friends.

3. The Pool
Excellently situated with respect to the view and just three steps from your villa, its long cascading infinity-edge and turquoise tile makes you believe you are part of the oceans cape. Once in, you won't want to get out.

4. The Location
Within 200 yards of the shoreline and at about 150 foot in elevation, the villa is one of the closest to the water of any luxury homes in the area. Hear the ocean, watch the moon rise over the bay and see the occasional whales and dolphins from the home without needing binoculars.

5. Convenient and Safe Access
Level, well-maintained roads insure quick, stress-free access. We are just a minute from the main highway, making it easy to come and go often as you wish. Mountainside access roads can be quite time consuming and a challenge if dark or wet.

6. Privacy
Surrounded only by unobstructed views of the ocean and the jungle, get ready to enjoy your home-away-from-home in total peace and privacy.

7. The Dominical Area
Being located on the Central Pacific coast has gifted this property with the perfect balance between the lushness of southern Costa Rica (without the lengthy rains) and the sunshine of northern Costa Rica (without the hot, dry, dusty conditions that are prevalent there). The weather is great here year round and there is plenty to do without that "touristy" feel. Between Dominical and Uvita there are plenty of international and local restaurants as well as plenty of touring options.

Besides the beach on our point that you can walk to, there are numerous beaches north and south of, all having their own unique personality and advantages. Some miles long, others small crescent shaped. Swimming beaches, surfing beaches, shell-collecting beaches. Beaches with caves, mangroves, waterfalls, fresh stream outlets. 9. The Wildlife
The property attracts many different types of animals, many of which you may have never seen in the wild. Also, don't be surprised if the "Costa Rican Air Force" does a fly-by along the coastline - squadrons of migrating pelicans in formation glide by at pool level!

Rental information:
• May 15 - August 31, 2009: $1,975/week or $295/nt.
• September 1 - October 31, 2009: $1,875/week or $275/nt.
• November 1 - December 19, 2009: $2,250/week or $335/nt.
• December 19 - 26, 2009 (Christmas Week): $3,450 (weekly rate only)
• December 26, 2009 - January 2, 2010 (New Years): $3,650 (weekly rate only)
• January 2 - April 30, 2010: $2,450/week or $365/nt.

Rates do not include 13% tax .
Minimum rental period is 3 nights excluding Christmas and New Years weeks.
• Deposit and Final Payment: 50% due within 7 days of confirmed reservation and is made via bank deposit in our U.S. bank account, personal or cashiers check or by credit card. The balance is due 90 days prior to arrival. For reservations made within 90 days of arrival, full payment is due at time of booking. If the payments are not received as requested, booking may be cancelled.
• Security Deposit: The refundable security deposit is due at time of check-in in exchange for the keys. We accept either $400 cash (US$) or authorization to charge your credit card in the event that damages are assessed. Generally, cash deposits will be returned upon check-out if all is well with the house and property. Damage charges are not limited to $400 and renters remain liable for anything exceeding that amount.
• Cancellations and No-Shows: Cancellations made 91 days or more in advance of arrival are subject to a 15% administrative charge based on the full contracted rental price. For cancellations occurring within 90 days of arrival, all payments are non-refundable. If the house can be re-rented for all or a portion of the same time period, we will refund up to the contracted price less the 15% administrative fee. No-Shows: No refunds given.
• Occupancy: Comfortably sleeps 5 adults or 4 adults and 2 children. Children are welcome in our home. However, please be aware that this is an open house and there are no security features around the pool or in other areas such as cabinets, etc. Guests assume full liability for any accidents, injuries or damage. Please, no pets.
• Smoking: Please respect that this is a Non-Smoking environment anywhere under the roof, including the open living and dining rooms.
• Insurance/Liability: Flying Toucans is not responsible for the loss or damage of property, personal belongings or any injuries or accidents that might occur. It is recommended that you purchase travel insurance to protect against travel delays and interruptions, medical emergencies and other unforeseen events, including world events and natural disasters.
